IB Security Assistant Recruitment 2025: 4,987 Vacancies Announced, Apply Online from July 26 to August 17

 


The Intelligence Bureau (IB), functioning under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), has officially announced one of the year’s largest recruitment drives. The notification, released on July 25, 2025, reveals 4,987 vacancies for the post of Security Assistant/Executive (SA/Exe) across various states and union territories in India. This is a significant opportunity for candidates who have passed Class 10 (Matriculation) and wish to serve in India’s premier internal intelligence agency.

Online applications for IB Security Assistant Recruitment 2025 will be open from July 26 to August 17, 2025, on the official websites — mha.gov.in and ncs.gov.in. The recruitment drive spans across the Subsidiary Intelligence Bureaus (SIBs), and candidates must apply in their respective domicile state or union territory. Proficiency in the local language is a mandatory requirement.

Eligibility Criteria are straightforward, aiming to ensure maximum participation:

Educational Qualification: Class 10 pass from a recognized board.

Domicile: Must possess a valid domicile certificate of the applied state/UT.

Language Proficiency: Fluency in the local language is essential.

Age Limit: 18 to 27 years as of August 17, 2025. Age relaxation is available as per government norms for SC/ST/OBC and other reserved categories.

The total vacancies are categorized as follows:

Unreserved (UR): 2,471

Other Backward Classes (OBC): 1,015

Economically Weaker Section (EWS): 501

Scheduled Caste (SC): 574

Scheduled Tribe (ST): 426

The selection process consists of three stages:

Tier I – Computer-Based Test (CBT) covering General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, and English.

Tier II – Descriptive/Translation test to assess local language skills.

Tier III – Interview and personality test.

Candidates will be shortlisted based on cumulative performance in all three stages, followed by document verification and a mandatory medical examination.

Application Fee Structure:

Processing Fee: ₹450 (all candidates).

Additional Fee: ₹100 (for male candidates of General, OBC, and EWS categories).

The total fee for eligible male applicants is ₹550, payable online. The fee is nonrefundable.
