Apple is gearing up for the global launch of its iPhone
17 series on September 9, 2025, with pre-orders expected from
September 12. This year’s lineup will feature four models—iPhone 17,
iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max—marking the debut of the
Air variant while discontinuing the Plus model.
Expected Pricing
Industry leaks suggest a $50 price increase across all models due to
rising component costs and tariffs. In the US, prices may start at $849 for the
iPhone 17, $949 for the iPhone 17 Air, $1,049 for the iPhone 17 Pro (with 256GB
base storage), and $1,249 for the iPhone 17 Pro Max. In India, the Pro Max
could retail around ₹164,990, while in the UAE, it may cost AED 4,587.
Design & Display
The iPhone 17 Air is rumoured to be Apple’s slimmest iPhone yet, at just 5.5 mm thick. The Pro and Pro Max models may sport a full-width horizontal
camera layout, replacing the vertical design. A new anti-reflective,
scratch-resistant display with nano-texture technology could also debut.
Performance
High-end models will feature the A19 Pro chip, built on TSMC’s next-gen
3nm process, along with 12GB RAM for smoother multitasking and
AI-powered features.
Camera Upgrades
All Pro models are expected to have three 48MP rear cameras—main,
ultra-wide, and telephoto—with up to 8x optical zoom. An upgraded 24MP
front camera and 8K video recording support are also anticipated.
Other Announcements
Alongside the iPhone 17 lineup, Apple is likely to unveil the Apple Watch
Series 11, Apple Watch Ultra 3, and Apple Watch SE 3.
With slimmer designs, advanced chipsets, and major camera
improvements, the iPhone 17 series is shaping up to be one of Apple’s
biggest upgrades in years, albeit at a higher price point. The final
details will be confirmed during the launch event.
