In a surprise treat for Marvel fans, Sony released a
nine-second teaser on August 1, 2025—Spider-Man Day—offering the first
glimpse of Tom Holland’s new suit in the upcoming film Spider-Man: Brand New
Day. The teaser, captioned “something brand new is coming,” was dropped on
the anniversary of Spider-Man’s comic book debut in Amazing Fantasy #15
(1962).
The teaser shows a close-up of Holland’s new Spider-Man
suit, which features vibrant red and blue colours, bold black outlines,
and subtle webbing a nostalgic nod to the classic comic book look. The
film follows Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), Far From Home (2019),
and No Way Home (2021) and is set to hit theatres on July 31, 2026.
Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, known for Shang-Chi
and the Legend of the Ten Rings, the fourth Spider-Man installment promises
action-packed sequences and a rich story. Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers,
who co-wrote the previous Spider-Man films, return as screenwriters.
Tom Holland reprises his role as Peter Parker, alongside
returning cast members Zendaya as MJ and Jacob Batalon as Ned
Leeds. New to the cast are Jon Bernthal as the Punisher, returning from Daredevil:
Born Again, and Sadie Sink (Stranger Things) and Liza
Colón-Zayas (The Bear), whose roles are yet to be revealed.
The teaser marks the beginning of the promotional journey
for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, igniting fan theories and excitement.
With a strong returning cast and new faces, the MCU is poised to swing into a
fresh chapter in 2026.
