The Election
Commission of India (ECI) has released the draft voter list for Bihar as part of the Special Intensive Revision 2025, ahead of
the upcoming Assembly elections. This massive voter list overhaul comes after a
month-long verification drive. As per reports, approximately 65 lakh names are expected to be removed
due to errors, duplications, or ineligibility.
The ECI has urged all voters and political parties in Bihar
to check their names in the draft electoral
roll and take necessary action between August 1 and September 1, 2025. This is the window to
raise objections, request deletions, or add
new eligible voters who may have been missed.
